Volunteering with the MPRB is a great way to make a difference in the community while you meet new friends, learn new skills or even build your résumé. From coaching, to gardening, to teaching a class at one of our recreation centers, we have the opportunity for you!
For a list of opportunities, please see our volunteer opportunities section or check out some of our highlighted opportunities below.
- Coaches Needed for Youth Sports
Over 600 youth sports teams would not play each year without the dedication of a volunteer coach. We have dozens of opportunities available during the summer and fall months. Fall sports include soccer, volleyball, football and more! Please contact us at volunteer@minneapolisparks.org or 612-230-6434 as new opportunities are available every week!
- Roll On!
Over 150 volunteers are needed to support riders at the 3rd Annual Minneapolis Bike Tour on Sunday, Sept. 20. Volunteer positions include registration, water stop support, bike marshals and more. Please contact Michelle Kellogg at mkellogg@minneapolisparks.org if you or your group are interested in supporting this fun and exciting event!
- Gardening
Show us your green thumb! Volunteer days are scheduled at many of our formal gardens for the summer. Please visit our Gardening Opportunities page for more information or contact the following gardeners:
- Adopt-a-Statue
Many of our historical statues are showing their age with tarnishing and algae growth. Clean and care for your favorite MPRB statue on an annual basis as part of our new Adopt-a-Statue program. Training is provided and non-harsh chemicals are used in the cleaning process. Great for individuals or small groups. There are 15 statues available from which to choose. Please contact Diane Moe at dmoe@minneapolisparks.org or 612-370-4929 for more information.
- Corporate or Group One - Time Service Projects are available on weekdays in the morning and early afternoon hours. More information.
