The Lake Nokomis Community Center will host its Second Annual Nokomis Urban Craft Fair on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. More than 30 vendors will feature handmade products, many which incorporate recycled or up-cycled materials. Vendors include Matt and Jill Meyer of Tired Ol’ Belts (whose motto is “from waste to waist”) who sell belts made from recycled bicycle parts.
Handmade products for sale include jewelry, aprons, hats, scarves, belts, stationary and cards, soaps and bath products, baby clothing, perfumes, wallets, bags, photography and much more. The event features free coffee, and baked items and snacks for sale. Proceeds from vendor fees and food sales will be used for programming at the Lake Nokomis Community Center.
In its first year in 2008, over 400 shoppers attended the fair, and it is expected to draw more than 500 shoppers this year.
The Nokomis Urban Craft Fair is one of five holiday art and craft shows that make up the Nokomis Craft Crawl. Pick up a map at the Nokomis Urban Craft Fair and crawl your way through the Nokomis neighborhood to find wonderful holiday gifts and seasonal baked items.
