This Northeast Minneapolis Park is a community hub that has been revitalized in recent years with a new wading pool, play equipment and resurfaced basketball court. The park also includes a softball diamond, a sand volleyball court, full-size basketball court, wading pool with water features, two shade structures and picnic amenities.
A new feature is ''In Flux,'' a spherical sculpture made of steel plates, sculptured glass and light. The sculpture builds on the connection between the arts community, the Holland neighborhood and supports the identity of the Arts District. Benches surround the sculpture. At the foot of the benches are cast iron text excerpts generated during meetings with community residents and Edison High School art students during the artwork development.
Historical Profile: More information about this and other parks is included in Parks, Lakes, Trails and So Much More, a richly detailed account of the histories of Minneapolis’ renown recreational system.
