Recycling in Minneapolis Parks
Help Us Recycle in Our Parks! Look for this sign and the blue recycle can when you are visiting the parks.
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board invites you to help us protect and preserve our environment by recycling all glass, metal and plastic containers.

An aspect of maintaining our parks is the proper use of waste and recycling receptacles on park grounds. Park users have many opportunities to recycle in Minneapolis parks.
Indoor Recycling Program
Recycle plastic, glass, aluminum and paper at community and neighborhood centers using source separated containers
- All park buildings, including community and neighborhood centers, have indoor recycling areas where park users can recycle plastic, glass, aluminum and paper.
- The indoor recycling containers are part of a source-separated recycling program, requiring users to dispose of materials in separate containers for plastic, glass, aluminum and paper.
- To recycle indoors, look for the appropriate dark blue indoor recycling bins.
- Please separate items when using the indoor recycling containers.
 |
Outdoor Recycling Program
Recycle plastic, glass and aluminum outdoors using the blue "Recycle Here" containers
- The outdoor recycling program is a co-mingled program where users can recycle plastic, glass and aluminum in a single container.
- Outside, park users can recycle at beaches, swimming pools, large athletic fields, large picnic areas, and golf courses.
- To recycle outdoors, look for “Recycle Here” signs – a blue recycling container will be next to the sign.
- There is no need to separate your recyclables at the outdoor locations.
